Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information NEET (“we”) collects through the website neet.co.tz and the NEET mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, phone number, email address (optional) and a password, which is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
• Booking details: the service you choose, the date and time, the address and directions you give us, a contact phone number, and any instructions you write.
• Payment details: the amount, the payment method, the mobile-money number you pay from and the transaction reference. We never see or store your mobile-money PIN.
• Reviews and messages: ratings and comments you leave, and messages, quote requests or job applications you send us.
• Technical data: a sign-in cookie or token that keeps you signed in, and your language preference. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

• To arrange and deliver the services you book, including sharing your name, address, phone number and instructions with the NEET professional assigned to your booking.
• To take payment and keep accounting records.
• To send you updates about your bookings and to answer your questions.
• To keep the service safe, prevent fraud and improve quality.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: the NEET professional carrying out your booking; payment providers that process your payment; companies that host our systems on our behalf; and authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account for as long as you use NEET. Booking and payment records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law. When you delete your account we erase your name, phone number, email, saved addresses and notifications, remove addresses and instructions from past bookings, and hide your reviews; the remaining booking and payment records no longer identify you.

Your choices and rights

• See and correct your details in your account at any time.
• Delete your account yourself in the app or on the website — see how to delete your account.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or object to how we use it, by contacting us.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections, passwords are hashed, and access to customer information is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will tell you promptly.

Children

NEET is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date above.
